FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DO I BRING TO CLASS?
I have a spare yoga mats and blankets that you are welcome to use but if you have your own, I'd recommend that you bring it along (and a pillow for relaxation). Otherwise, the only thing you would need is yourself and a water bottle.

IT'S THE MIDDLE OF TERM- CAN I STILL JOIN A CLASS?
Yes! Where there is a vacancy in a class, you are more than welcome to start. Enrolments are taken at all stages throughout the term to accommodate different due dates and lifestyle needs. Your fee will be a pro rata one based on the weeks remaining in the term. Please contact Dani to discuss before making payment.

WHAT DO I WEAR TO CLASS?
Wear what you are most comfortable in (even if they are your daggy trackies and UGG boots)! Your comfort is the most important thing and I encourage you to follow that rather than try to look like a model or professional athlete! :)

I'VE NEVER PRACTICED YOGA BEFORE- WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO JOIN THE CLASS?
Yes! Definitely! All classes are designed so that you can choose a level that works for you. I offer options in all poses so that you can take it gently or challenge yourself- depending on how you are feeling on the day. Lots of the women who attend the classes have never done yoga before so you won't be alone!

WHEN IS IT SAFE TO START YOGA DURING PREGNANCY?
I advise that you wait until you have reached your second trimester (12 weeks) until starting Prenatal Yoga. This allows time for your body to settle and get used to the idea of being pregnant (and fingers crossed, for morning sickness to pass)! :)

HOW LONG CAN I PRACTICE YOGA FOR DURING PREGNANCY?
I often have mums-to-be attend my classes well past their due dates. As long as you feel fine to come along, you're more than welcome to remain in the class for as long as you like! It it perfectly safe for bub and a lot of mums report that it helps keep them relaxed and focused in the lead up to birth.

CAN I ATTEND CASUALLY?
Yes! Students who are new to the studio are welcome to book casual attendance to try out their first class and also returning students (those who have previously purchased a class pass) are more than welcome to attend casually.

IF I MISS A CLASS CAN I MAKE IT UP?
If you are unable to make it to a class you are always more than welcome to look at the timetable and see where vacancies exist in other classes. Once you have purchased your class pass you can attend any classes that work for you within that term.  Note that there is only one Prenatal class on offer for Term 1, 2017.

DO I NEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT ANY HEALTH CONCERNS BEFORE PRACTICING?
Yes, you must always inform your teacher if you have
  • low lying placenta
  • high or low blood pressure
  • your baby is breach or posterior
  • any structural issues with your back or pelvic girdle, ie pelvic instability
  • any emotional issues you may have like depression or anxiety.

All information is completely confidential. This information will help the teacher to use specific yoga and wellbeing techniques to help you during the pregnancy yoga class. Before attending you are asked to complete a health questionnaire to give the teacher a better understanding of how to individually support you. The form can be easily found and completed online prior to attending here.

IS IT SAFE TO PAY FOR MY YOGA CLASSES ONLINE?
Yes! In order to provide all students with a safe online experience we use an electronic billing system called EziDebit, which integrates with MindBody Online (the online booking software we use). Ezidebit works within the MindBody interface and encodes your credit card and contact details to ensure their safe transfer and storage. In fact we cannot view your credit card details (we only get to see the last 4 digits).

CAN I BRING MY PARTNER, FRIEND OR OTHER FAMILY MEMBER ALONG TO A PRENATAL CLASS?
Unfortunately not. The classes are designed specifically for mum's to be and the language and focus I adopt tend to be more appropriate for those who are expecting themselves.
