POSTNATAL YOGA
CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST- POSTNATAL CLASS (JUST FOR MUMS)
After a number of requests, I am considering running a postnatal class specifically for new mums. The class would be without little ones and a perfect opportunity to nurture and strengthen your body after birth. If you're interested, please contact me with your time and day preferences (all times including Saturday mornings will be considered).

POSTNATAL YOGA
Being a new mum is a time when you give of yourself so completely and unconditionally that it's important to remember to take care of yourself! After the birth of your little one and when you feel ready, come and enjoy some time out in a practice specifically designed for your needs during this period.
Dani brings a fresh and imaginative approach to teaching Postnatal yoga with an emphasis on allowing you to restore, invigorate and strengthen. The class is an opportunity to experience the benefits and joy of yoga and offers the space for you to connect with other new mums.
In the class we go through a series of poses which focus on strengthening the pelvic floor, the abdominal area, the legs and the back and easing tension from the neck and shoulders. You will always have the opportunity to go gently or to challenge yourself depending on how you are feeling on the day. All of the classes will also include breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques to help restore a sense of balance into all aspects of your life .
Class information
- No yoga experience is necessary, our postnatal classes are gentle and safe following the birth of your baby.
- Bookings are required.
- Class duration is 60 minutes. New students to arrive 10 minutes early to register. The yoga space will open 15 minutes prior to class start. If you are running late, that's okay - we are all mums and understand some mornings it can be a challenge to get places on time!
Benefits of Postnatal yoga
• Receive support from other new and experienced mothers
• Relieve aches and pains
• Strengthen your pelvic floor & abdominal area
• Restore energy levels and recharge
• Increasing over-all endurance, strength and well being
• Reducing back tension and discomfort
• Building core strength and stability (including abdominals)
• Reducing anxiety and stress
What to bring
All you need to bring is yourself and a bottle of water. Wear clothing you can move easily in. Some yoga mats are provided, but please feel free to bring your own if you have one.
When to Start
As a rule of thumb postnatal yoga can be started 6 weeks after a vaginal birth and around 8+ weeks after a caesarean with consent from your GP and as long as you are feeling up to it.

MUMS AND BUBS YOGA
Unfortunately, there will not be a Mum's and Bub's Yoga class held next term due to new study commitments I'm taking on. In the meantime new mums are more than welcome to come along to the General Yoga class on Monday nights. In this class you can have the opportunity to strengthen and restore after the arrival of your little one and take some well earned time to nurture yourself. I will also still be available for private mums and bub's classes so if you and/or a few friends would like me to come to your home and teach a class (you organise a space). Please contact me to discuss your needs!
I can also recommend Julia Willoughby at Yoga for Birth and Beyond and Bernie at Flourish Yoga as two excellent teachers who offer mum's and bub's classes in Canberra.
